OSUMC’s full range of diagnostic and therapeutic radiology modalities includes mammography, diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and a comprehensive radiation therapy department.
In addition, interventional radiology services include: venous access establishment and maintenance; vascular diagnostic; intra-vascular infusion therapy; occlusion therapy; percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and vascular stents; non-vascular imaging studies; balloon dilation/stenting of soft tissue and percutaneous ostomies.
OSUMC’s teleradiology service was installed in late fall 1999 and currently serves eight hospitals and clinics, with more regional facilities requesting services. Radiologists based at OSUMC read approximately 150 exams a day including CT, MRI, and general radiology.
Handwritten preliminary reports are faxed to the facility within minutes, and transcribed reports are sent the following day.
